Time management strategies

Image
The two articles that I read on time management strategies were ' Increase your creative output with 14 time management tips just for creatives ' by Amanda Oliver and ' How to beat procrastination ' by Caroline Webb. The first article focuses on time management skills for creative people. As someone who would consider themselves a creative and more visual person I found a lot of the advice in this article very useful. Rather than focusing on lists, deadlines and rigid schedules this article focuses on working in a way that suits you the best. Point 3 focuses on working at a time that suits you best which I found helpful as I find that when I have to do larder tasks I perform better at them later in the day. I found the 6th point very helpful, this point focuses on doing the ' worst ' thing first. I find that when I have multiple tasks to do I find myself leaving the task I would enjoy the least or find the hardest to the end. This article suggests th...

Technology used in multimedia development

Image
In terms of the programs that we are using for this module I have at least heard about all of them, I have previous experience using blogger and editing photos. Although I have no personal experience working in Unity, I have a lot of friends who already do so I have heard a good bit about the program and I'm looking forward to learning it. I have had to run a blog for two modules last year but other than that I don't have much experience in working in this particular way. I'm looking forward to developing my skills in blogging further throughout this semester. Illustration of different types of technology

First impression of assignment overview

Image
My first impression of the assignments that I have to complete for this module is that they are very broad and offer a wide range of different experiences. Not only will I be updating my blog regularly but I will also be working on my project, doing reading tasks, working in unity and viewing other students blogs. I also appreciate that there is extra credit work offered, I like the option of being able to pull up my grade if I feel that I may be falling behind in some other area. This format is quite different to the format of my other modules but I think that this change will be good and will keep me more engaged in what I am doing as there is an element of choice.  Assignment stock image link

Growth mindset

Image
Prior to today I had never heard of  Carol Dweck or her work on growth mindsets. I found the idea of growth mindsets very interesting and beneficial for learning successfully. I believe that this way of thinking would be a benefit to everyone in the education system. If everyone was to use this method of thinking when they are faced with a challenge I think they would be more likely to feel fulfilled in their education. growth mindset link

My favourite game

Image
My favourite game The game that I've chosen to write about is Bloodborne. Bloodborne is an action role-playing game by From Software, it was released in 2015. Bloodborne falls under the umbrella of ' souls-like ' games, this name came around shortly after the release of Demon Souls in 2009 another action role-playing game by From Software. Bloodborne is a spiritual successor of sorts to Dark Souls, it takes elements from both Dark Souls and Demon Souls and makes adjustments to them to create a similar yet completely different experience. Bloodborne cover art: From Software link Unlike it's predecessors Bloodborne takes place in a gothic and lovecraftian horror inspired world that evokes Victorian London. The game centers on an outbreak of a bloodborne illness that has turned the citizens of the town of Yharnam and the surrounding area into monsters. The main selling point of Bloodborne is it's difficulty. Much like the other games in the series Bloodborne became k...
