 My favourite game

The game that I've chosen to write about is Bloodborne. Bloodborne is an action role-playing game by From Software, it was released in 2015. Bloodborne falls under the umbrella of ' souls-like ' games, this name came around shortly after the release of Demon Souls in 2009 another action role-playing game by From Software. Bloodborne is a spiritual successor of sorts to Dark Souls, it takes elements from both Dark Souls and Demon Souls and makes adjustments to them to create a similar yet completely different experience.

Unlike it's predecessors Bloodborne takes place in a gothic and lovecraftian horror inspired world that evokes Victorian London. The game centers on an outbreak of a bloodborne illness that has turned the citizens of the town of Yharnam and the surrounding area into monsters. The main selling point of Bloodborne is it's difficulty. Much like the other games in the series Bloodborne became known for it's unique combat style and expertly designed boss fights. 

If you put the work into learning the unique combat style of Bloodborne and manage to get through the steep learning curve you will be exposed to a deeply interesting story. Bloodborne has an incredibly unconventional way to conveying it's story to the players. Unlike other games where the story is presented directly to the players the story of Bloodborne is hidden within item descriptions, character dialogue and boss fights. It is completely possible to play through the entirety of Bloodborne without noticing the deeper elements of the story.

Bloodborne became my favourite game because of all of the unique elements that it brought to the table in addition to it's gorgeous yet disturbing scenery. I would absolutely recommend picking it up if it seems like something you would be interested in. Bloodborne is available on PS4 and PS5.

    WOW! Bloodborne seems mysterious and interesting. I'm curious about it now I might start playing it and figure out how it is played because I love these kind of games that involves demons and souls. I also like how you should figure out everything in the game by yourself unlike any other game as you mentioned, which makes it more interesting to play it and I am sure that I will enjoy playing it.

Game idea research

 Researching ideas for my game The game idea that I'm focusing on in this post is my idea of a cat simulator. Based on some of the feedback I've received from my classmates I believe that this would be a very interesting and entertaining game. Screenshot of neko atsume link The first idea for one of the possible game mechanics for my game is to include a feature where you can ' collect ' different cats. I imagine this being like the cat collection feature in the game  Neko Atsume . This feature would allow for me to include a range of different kinds of cats with different personalities, likes and dislikes. This would keep the game fresh on repeat playthroughs. I would implement this by having different kinds of cats appear periodically in the adoption center. Another possible mechanic I would like to include would be a feature where you can develop relationships with the cats you adopt. Brainstorming topics for my game

 In this blog post I intend on running through some possible ideas for the game that I am going to create. I will discuss where I got the inspiration for the game from, my ideas for the art style and mechanics I would like to include. Idea 1- Cat simulator My cat Ham, the inspiration for my cat sim My first idea is for a Nintendogs style game where you keep and care for cats. Another big part of why I would want to make a game in this style is that I recently got a kitten and I would like to share this experience with others. Ideally I would like this game to be a relaxing and more casual game. I would like the art style to be relatively simple, in recent years there has been a revival of cell shading and other less detailed art styles in games and I believe that this kind of style would suit a game like this.
