Vision statement
Introduction
' cat game ' is a cat collecting simulator game for Switch and PC that blends the cat collecting of ' Neko Atsume ' with the friendship building of ' Animal Crossing '. Cat Game is set in the home of your choice where you will adopt, befriend and connect with a variety of cats.
Description
In Cat Game you move into your dream home and fill it with as many cats as possible. You first pick a home from a collection of starters, later on in the game you will have the opportunity to relocate to a larger home to fit more of your new found friends. You can decorate your home to your liking but remember that certain cats have specific preferences and if you don't meet them you'll be in for a nasty surprise.
Example of the home decoration and cat collection seen in Neko Atsume link |
Cats can be adopted at your local adoption center. Initially you can only adopt one cat but as your bond grows so too can your cat collection. You can adopt a variety of different cats from tabbys to maine coons and maybe even some familiar-ish faces. Each one of the cats you can take home will have their own unique personality, some cats will warm up to you immediately while others need a bit of time and space before you two can be the best of friends. Certain cats will also have preferences for the toys that you give them to play with. One cat may prefer playing with a crinkle ball while another may rather chew your shoelaces, it's all about trial and error when it comes to bonding with your cat.
A certain amount of upkeep is expected to keep your cats happy. You will need to give your cats access to scratching posts and toys to keep them entertained and their claws in perfect shape. Your cats also need to eat regularly, there's a wide range of food that you can offer your cat and depending on your cats preferences they will love it, tolerate it or absolutely hate it. Certain cats will also require extra attention from you and others may prefer the company of other cats.

This isn't even my game idea but like I think I said in my last comment here, I am more hyped for this game than my own, like seriously I'm so sad I didn't have this idea T-T. I can't wait to see how this game goes and honestly I already have way too many idea's for cats to be featured here so if your stuck for cat designs: A glow in the dark skeleton cat (Halloween exclusive kitty of course), Cat with a spot on its eye that believes wholeheartedly it is a dog (might require extra work but maybe it only accepts certain treats originally meant for dogs?), black cat with a witch's hat, if left for too long might begin stirring a cauldron as an idle animation, a cat that isn't even a cat- it's really a shadow of a cat! A cat that drools everywhere with a derpy expression, might fall over and face plant in it's walking animation, small white cat that's like, comedically smol, cat that is effectively golden- super rare possibly? Tiger striped cat that likes to hide in bushes, can be friends with panther cat and ninja cat (another two idea's), military cat- just walks around with a camo design and a helmet that covers it's whole face, walks into walls and whatnot (military cat gives reason to believe there was a cat war? Omg cat lore could be a thing????)..... Okay I'm gonna stop, I can't wait to see what idea's you have for this game because it's just SO GOOD for ideation!
ReplyDeleteOmg i loved Neko Atsume used to spend ages playing that on my tabled and seeing it again is making me very tempted to download and play it again also cats are the best so its making my hyped for your game ^^
ReplyDeleteHey Ciara, right off the bat this game reminds me of something like sims or this dog game that I used to play on my Nintendo back in the day where you adopt loads of dogs and interact with them and stuff haha this idea sounds great and unique not something I have seen anyone do so far anyway. I do wonder how this will be done in unity it might actually prove to be actually but very fun because your game will consist of a lot of game objects that you can pick and choose from to add in and that kinda sounds fun to be honest. I look forward to seeing the end result of this game best of luck Ciara :)
